The Gateway Workforce Initiative collaborated with the EPIC (Entrepreneur Program Impacting Communities) program for its inaugural launch during the 2023-2024 school year. EPIC offers a year-long, interactive, and educational experience that teaches students the basics of starting a business, providing networking opportunities, resources, and funding for student start-ups. Open to public, private, and homeschooled students in grades 7-12 in Foley, Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Elberta, and nearby areas, the after-school program fosters entrepreneurial skills and community impact.
As EPIC approaches its second year, students are encouraged to apply the end of August, as the first meeting is in September. We are also seeking volunteers to mentor and businesses to sponsor the program. Sponsorships, which start at $50, are tax-deductible through our 501(c)(3) Foundation.
