The Baldwin County School System, Baldwin Preparatory Academy, Foley High School, and Elberta High School are joining forces once again to connect students with real-world career experiences and they’re asking for local businesses to play a key role.
This November, schools will host their annual Job Shadowing Event, giving students the chance to spend a day with professionals in the community. Last year’s event was a tremendous success, with more than 25 businesses and 100 students participating across Baldwin County. The goal this year is to make it bigger and better by expanding business participation.
“Opportunities like these make a lasting impact on students,” said Sara Grace Littleton, Career Coach with Baldwin County Schools. “Even one day of job shadowing can open a student’s eyes to what’s possible for their future career.”
Local businesses are invited to host a student for one day during the job shadowing event. By opening your doors, you’ll not only help prepare the next generation of workers but also showcase your industry to potential future employees.

In addition, Baldwin Prep Academy is launching an Internship Program to give students extended, hands-on experience in industries such as welding, HVAC, auto, aviation, cybersecurity, culinary arts, and cosmetology. Businesses that would like to host an intern for a longer-term placement are encouraged to sign up as well.
