The South Baldwin Regional Workforce Development Authority recently named Community Development Group (CDG) the contract for pre-development services for its workforce campus project. The Authority board published an RFP for contractual services on June 1, 2023, that ended on June 30, 2023. The board heard presentations from qualified firms and determined that CDG was the most qualified to carry out the pre-development phase of the project.
“We are confident that CDG has the ability to plan, develop, and fund the South Baldwin Workforce Campus project in a manner that achieves the goals of our authority, the cities within South Baldwin County, and the prospective tenants for the site. Their team is particularly well-suited to large-scale development and structured financing for projects like ours. They have extensive project planning and management experience spanning many decades involving comparable projects that require meticulous planning, broad support from community leaders, and considerable financial knowledge and capacity.” said Ed Bushaw, Executive Director of the Workforce Authority.
It is anticipated that the pre-development phase of the project will take roughly four months to complete.
The South Baldwin Regional Workforce Development Board is co-chaired by Margaret Roley, CEO of South Baldwin Regional Medical Center, and Charlene Habor, Owner of Wolf Bay Restaurants. The remaining members of the board come from a broad spectrum of South Baldwin businesses including advanced manufacturing, retail, and tourism.
